Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by Vowchers to explain how merchant and shopper data is handled. It describes current platform practices and is not a legal certification or audit report.

What we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to run the marketplace. For shoppers, this is your email address and on-chain wallet address used to hold and redeem v$. For merchants, we store business details, your registered wallet address, and the connector tokens you authorize us to use with Shopify or WooCommerce. We do not import customer lists, order histories, or any personal data from your store.

How we use your data

Your email is used for account access and important service notices. Wallet addresses are used to verify v$ balances and on-chain transfers. Merchant connector tokens are used only to mint discount codes when a shopper redeems a voucher. We never sell your data, use it for advertising profiling, or share it with unrelated third parties.

Data storage and security

Account and voucher data are stored in our backend database with row-level access controls, so each user can only read their own records. On-chain transactions are public by design and linked via transaction hashes. Connector tokens are encrypted at rest and only accessed by our server-side minting logic.

Merchant connector access

When you connect Shopify or WooCommerce, you authorize Vowchers to create discount codes on your behalf. We request the smallest scope required: discount and price-rule write access. We do not read your customers, orders, products, or sales history.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain session security. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Any analytics we run is limited to aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as required for financial and legal record-keeping. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us; on-chain transaction records cannot be deleted because they are part of the public blockchain.

Contact us

If you have questions about this policy, want to exercise your data rights, or need a copy of your data, please contact the Vowchers team through your account settings or the support channel listed on the site.

Shared responsibility: Vowchers provides the software and infrastructure that processes this data. Merchants and shoppers are responsible for keeping their account credentials secure, using strong passwords, and ensuring any wallet addresses they provide are accurate. Blockchain transactions are irreversible and public.
